The urgent need to promote learning and improve performance in Government among secondary school students in your Local Government Area resulted into a range of related but different evaluation strategies in classroom levels. The resultant features has been inconsistent performance of students in examinations nationwide and performance still varies from school to schools. This undermines the future of many students that are in schools that persistently perform poorly.
What therefore remains disturbing is whether there is a significant influence of evaluation strategies adopted by teachers teaching Government in secondary schools in your Local Government Area and students’ academic performance in examinations. It was on this background that the researcher was interested to carry out the research in other to determining whether the persistence poor performance of students in Government in your Local Government is as a result of poor evaluation strategies adopted by the teachers..
